Three Cheers...

....for Blogger finally accepting my pictures. I'm so excited that I was finally able to get some pictures up. I had taken these awhile back and have been trying (to no avail) to post them. Consequently, I let myself get further behind on blogging than I would have liked. You know, I always have to have lots of pictures. It's what my blog is mainly about.

Anyway, we are doing well. Things are slowly getting back to "normal" after Craig's shoulder surgery a couple of weeks ago. He has returned to work on "light duty" and continues his therapy. The therapist told him today that he's made lots of progress since Friday, which is great.

Nathan is growing like a wild weed. He turned one month old last Saturday and weighed in at 11 pounds 6 ounces the night before. I'm sure he's 12 pounds or more by now! I can tell because all the 0-3 month clothes that say up to 12 pounds are getting really snug. Sadly, I am beginning to put aside some things that he won't be wearing again. I guess I shouldn't stuff his feet into things so long that the next size begins to be too small too soon! That's what I always tended to do with the older boys.

Speaking of older boys, they are doing good too. And growing like weeds too! We're looking forward to Halloween. Andrew is going to be the cutest Bee ever. Barry Benson to be exact! From BEE Movie... We can't figure out what Josh is going to be. We might have to get creative. I've looked at the Wal-Mart costumes and am dismayed by the choices and quality, not to mention the price! He may just have to resort to being a Fireman again. I've asked him several times what he wants to be and he never answers me. I don't know if he even cares that much about dressing up.....hard to tell.... Guess I better get that figured out soon.

I can't believe that October is nearly over. It's always been my very favorite month of the year. It used to be because it's my birth month, but now it's just because it's Fall. We're actually getting some fairly decent leaf change this year. We don't always have that in our area, so we appreciate it when we do. It just doesn't last long enough.

I'm going to leave you with those pictures I've been trying to post....enjoy!

P.S. I really am going to get more pictures of Josh and Andrew soon, I promise. Nathan has taken up a lot of "focus through the lens" lately, but trust me.....we aren't neglecting the others!

Look at me! I'm sitting up! (only briefly in Bumbo seat)

This is what I look like when I'm mad!

Newborn Portraits

I am super excited that Nathan's Newborn Portraits are finally ready for viewing! There are so many sweet ones and it will be hard to choose. You may see them by going here: http://www.tkhphotography.com/ On the right hand side of the homepage, click on K.O. Newborn Sitting. Let me know if you have any favorites. He was exactly two weeks old. He'll be 4 weeks on Thursday!

A Little of This and a Little of That

I would like to post some new pictures tonight because I have some really cute new ones, but I've got a sleeping baby in my lap and he's too sweet to put down to go get my camera to upload the pictures. So....I thought I would just give a quick update anyway..

Some of you may not know that Craig had surgery this past Thursday on his shoulder. He had a full tear in his rotator cuff (which they repaired). He has been off work since then and will be all this week. He's doing okay. He's never had a big surgery like this before, so it is all new territory for him. It's been hurting pretty bad, but he managed to need less pain medicine today than the 3 days prior. He rested all this morning while we went to church and felt well enough to be awake to supervise the boys while I napped this afternoon. Apparently, I needed it pretty badly because it was a good nap. Thankfully, Nathan napped the whole time too, so Craig didn't have to recruit Josh to pick him up! Tomorrow Craig will start his rehabilitation therapy, which should be interesting! Please remember him in your prayers. (And me too.. :)

Our boys continue to do well. The big boys spent the weekend with Nana and Papa and had a fabulous "Fall" time with campfires, rides in the woods, a trip to the pumpkin patch, and more! Josh is plugging away with homeschooling and Andrew is still loving his school.

They are both getting so tall and smart. It looks like it will be no time before Josh is taller than I am (he does still have a way to go, but he'll definitely pass Craig and I both at some point.) Josh contines to amaze us with his "smarts."

Andrew suddenly looks like a big kid and I wonder where my toddler went. Tonight he was doing some addition facts with three numbers. We thought that was pretty good! He figured out that 2+2+1 and 3+1+1 both equal the same even though he did not answer those two back to back.

Nathan is growing like a bad weed! I can't believe how fast he's gained weight. It sure looks like it would be coming off of me a little faster! Guess the chocolate and milkshakes don't help...

Yesterday I went to the Gerber Mother Give-Away. It was awesome! Thank you Heather A. (if you are reading this) for nominating me. We had a yummy meal donated by Golden Corral, we taste tested baby food, we heard from several speakers with some good information, and the best part....everyone got tons of free stuff! I got a box of baby food, a box of baby bath supplies, lots of feeding gear like spoons, sippy cups, bottles, pacifiers, etc, as well as a baby care cart. They had lots of prizes even bigger than that, but I am so blessed and am perfectly happy with what I received. Thanks to Gerber for their generosity!

I better get this finished up so I can get some more rest while everyone else is sleeping. I'll try to get those pics posted soon.

Not the Biggest Loser

Yesterday I took Nathan for his 2 week checkup. He was actually 2 weeks and 5 days. Can anyone guess how much this child has grown? He's doing great and seems to be very healthy. Let's just say that nursing agrees with him quite well. He weighed in at 10 pounds 1 ounce. Up from 8 pounds 5.5 ounces at birth! He's now 23 inches long and his head measures 15 inches! We feel so incredibly blessed to have our healthy boys. Here are some recent pictures....

Getting ready for a bath...not so sure about it...

This cute blanket was made by a friend of "Nana" and has cows on it. It says, "Moody." :0)

These two are the most recent, taken last night after that 10+ pound weigh in!

Picture Stockpile and Teamwork

None of these pictures are very recent. Well...obviously they aren't very old, given the fact that Nathan is just 2 and 1/2 weeks old.....but recent is relative. I wanted to share some of my favorite shots that include the big boys. ...Seems they've been getting the short end of the stick on this blog lately and I didn't want to totally leave them out. Josh and Andrew are both still head over heels in love with Nathan. They think he's just great! They are definitely "devoted...in brotherly love."

I am astounded at how very big Nathan has gotten in the last couple of days especially. He is really rounding out! You will see that in the next batch of pictures. They are still in my camera right now. I just have so many I want to put on first and I'm getting very frustrated trying to get them uploaded as it is....

This was taken the day after we came home!

So, about the teamwork. I had to share these pictures of Josh and Andrew being creative with their play. Our Pastor and his son came over a little over a week ago to do some scouting for hunting. They brought along their 4-wheeler and had left the ramp out. The boys just happened to be playing with their Gator and couldn't resist a little "tending" (pretending). They loaded and unloaded that thing who knows how many times, and loved every minute of it! Don't you wish you could hear what they were saying? Sorry I didn't crop these down so you can see them better. I did good to get them on here. Maybe if you click on them you can see them bigger.

Until next time....

Baby Days

As promised, here are some more pictures taken within the past week. The last one was taken just tonight. Nathan had a good little period of alertness. I guess he's starting to be less sleepy since I have cut way back on my pain medicine. He has grown SO much already! He's really chubbing up and is such a little doll. This precious newborn time just passes way too fast! Hope you enjoy the pics.....

Had to get some pics before that umbilical cord fell off.

He has the little peak on his back hairline, just like Andrew.

Precious!

Wink Wink...

Look at me, all bright eyed and bushy tailed!

Sweet Baby

Yes, we're still here and I know you all are so anxious for new pictures. Well, tonight I got some that I just couldn't wait to share! I just love squishy newborns!

It is so hard to believe that Nathan will be one week old tomorrow morning. This week has gone by faster than any other in the last 9 months! We're doing well and just enjoying these new baby days. They pass by so fast... Wait.......I already said that... It's just so true.

I've been feeling really good. So much better than before. I did, however, overdo it today. I really needed groceries and decided to make a trip to town with my Mom. We made several stops and I didn't realize I had gone too far until I got started with my grocery shopping. I'm okay though. I just need to take it easy tomorrow and I'm sure I'll be right back on track.

Nathan is doing great too. He slept really well last night. He's just so sweet.....see for yourself.....
